Rosemary Ketchum served on the Wheeling, WV, city council from 2020 to 2024. She then ran for mayor but was not elected. She is the first transgender person elected to political office in West Virginia.
 
Ms. Ketchum’s website contains the Brené Brown quote, “I want to be in the arena. I want to be brave with my life. And when we make the choice to dare greatly, we sign up to get our asses kicked. We can choose courage or we can choose comfort, but we can’t have both. Not at the same time.” 
 
This artwork kicks ass by acknowledging Ms. Ketchum’s fortitude in running and being elected to a governmental position.
